Since we went to the new website, We Love Marlborough doesn’t do what’s on because http://www.marlboroughnewsonline.co.uk does such a good job. However, this deserves an exception because Jamie and Harriet from The Zoots are two of our committee members! Here you go:
The internationally successful 1960s covers band, The Zoots, will be jiving, rocking and letting loose their blue suede shoes at The Kennet Valley Hall, Lockeridge on Friday 7th February 2014.
The event is 1960’s themed fundraiser evening for the community hall, with guests invited to dress up in their best 1960’s outfits, with prizes for the best costumes.
The Zoots are a highly successful 5 piece band, with a five year history and have performed all over the world. Comprising of Wiltshire musicians and based in the Marlborough area, The Zoots, have toured their 1960s theatre show through nearly 30 countries in the past 2 years alone. The Zoots 1960’s show includes non stop classics from The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Kinks as well as American artists such as Neil Diamond, Elvis and Chuck Berry. Their highly successful show, contagious energy and sublime vocals have earned them fans all over the world.
Lead singer from The Zoots Jamie Goddard said, “It is really great to be performing our first local public show as most of our shows are overseas or private events such as weddings, parties and fundraisers. Kennet Valley Hall is a fantastic facility which we often use for rehearsals so it’s fantastic for us to be able to be involved and show everyone locally what we can do.”
Profits from the evening will be going towards improvements at Kennet Valley Hall which is a not for profit venue, run by local citizens, available for hire for weddings, parties, meetings and sports events.
